This one simple card and pen was lying on the bedside table as we checked into our hotel room earlier this week. I won’t lie I love pens and notebooks. So, I have always loved having a small pen and notepad in hotel rooms. However, this one struck me differently, and was a reminder of advice given by a professor a few years ago. During my first weekend of intensive classes for my doctoral program the professor for the marketing class, Dr. Compos Sosa, handed each of us a small legal pad, and instructed us to keep this by our bedside. The reason for this was because you never know when ideas will hit you. This was not a new idea, but in the midst of life it was a good reminder. Obviously it stuck with me as I remember it almost three years later.
