Not too long ago we watched the Friends Reuinion. I’ll admit my expectations were lowered some after I realized the setup of the show was the cast commentating on the show through the years. What I found was the opposite. I remembered just how funny the show was. However, I learned why it resonated with so many people, and oddly saw clarity to some seasons of life. We all have seasons where we feel more connected to people, and you find there is a unique bond that as years go on you can’t quite replicate.
As the reunion came to an end they spoke to the topic of why they have not come together to record more episodes. The answer was that in order to come back together to record a new episode they would have to unravel some story line, and they didn’t want to unravel any of them. Rather it was a season in their lives where they needed each other, they grew together, and when the time came they grew into the next phase.
I am thankful for those seasons in our lives.
